🔥 The Format

This is a last-runner-standing endurance event following the Backyard Ultra format - with a Lap 40 Shootout Finish.

Runners must complete a 4.167-mile (6.7 km) loop every hour, on the hour.

Each lap starts exactly on the hour

You must be in the start corral at the bell – no late starts.

If you fail to complete a lap within 60 minutes, you are out DNF – DID NOT FINISH

The race continues until one runner remains **OR** the Lap 40 Shootout is triggered

---

🏁 Lap 40 Shootout Rule (Important)

If more than one runner is still in the event after completing Lap 39, the race will be decided on Lap 40 as a shootout:

All remaining runners start Lap 40 together on the hour

The first runner to complete Lap 40 is the winner

There is no requirement to wait for a final solo lap

Standard lap cut-off (60 minutes) still applies

If no runner completes Lap 40 within the cut-off, no winner will be declared
